Graceland Evans is a normal eighteen-year-old girl. For years, she's lived an average life in Wisconsin. From the age of thirteen, she dated Reg Turner, the most popular guy in town. She was Homecoming Queen, Prom Queen and every other title that came with a crown. She had a passion for pop music and Japanese anime. She had no ambition in her life outside of eventually marrying her childhood sweetheart, following him to Kealtha University.

But Grace's life was turned upside-down when she caught Reg cheating on her, something which had been a regular occurance since they began University. Leaving their apartment, Grace was forced to live at her place of work-- Tanaka Video. For weeks, her home was the "The Hentai Room", the largest collection of animated pornography in the state.

Grace is intrigued by the couple who lives above the store, a pair of Japanese immigrants who always arrive home when she's going off to school. Glamourous and mysterious, she's desperate to know their secret.

When she finds out what that secret is, her entire world will be changed.
